Appraisal for Form 706 Estate Tax Filings
Executors of an estate in California must file a Federal estate tax return, if the estate is valued at more than the credit exemption. The expert appraisers at Los Angeles based business appraisal firm BEACo, are available and experienced in valuation of estates, including all real property, personal property, and tangible/intangible assets if warranted. The IRS required the valuation to be reported within a set period of time. The valuation is reported to the IRS on Form 706. BEACo's team of appraisers will be glad to provide more information, including your responsibilities as executor of an estate, during a free initial consultation.
We are often engaged by CPAs and attorneys on both estate planning and estate tax matters, and on occasion by the Trusts.
On recent estate planning assignments, the importance of the selection of the effective date of value - before or now during the pandemic - is extremely important. The date of value is examined in more detail in our blogs.
